[livejournal.com profile] primavera asked that I do a Hero/Villain drawing of Biollante for them.

Ask, and ye shall receive several years later.

Sorry I had to do it on a completely rubbish scanner.

Biollante drawing by me

Remember the Hero / Villain-a-Day thing? That I started about three years ago? And have completed only a dozen-plus of?

Well, [livejournal.com profile] zundian had a double-request, so here we go...

Ambush Bug and Matter Eater Lad don't know who they're messing with

For those of you who don't get this preposterously comic-geeky joke, there's Ambush Bug, who is...well, there's...and Matter Eater Lad has...if...

Fuck it, it made me laugh, but probably because I was up until Stupid O'Clock drawing the damn thing.

Shut up, Shut Up, SHUT UP OH GOD I CAN HEAR YOU IN MY MIND!

Love,

b

Thanks to some wise and helpful words from Joe and Bethany, I've got a new artist's block method to try.

Did it for the first time last night and it worked.

I produced one of my Hero / Villain-a-Day drawings. Here's a link to my my original post about this.

I cribbed the concept, with permission, from [livejournal.com profile] himynameisjamie  (his Hero/Villain stuff is here) and [livejournal.com profile] ericfmyers  (his is right here.)

And yes, if you want to prolong my suffering, feel free to add your own Hero or Villain suggestion for me to draw.

And now, for the request made years ago by [livejournal.com profile] juniperesque, for Mathman (to which I added Mr. Glitch):

Mathman and Mr Glitch for the Hero-A-Day Project - Vered's request

No wonder Square One wouldn't let him give interviews.

Smooches, my little monkeys.

b
First off, I drew [livejournal.com profile] evil_egg  for...ummm...[livejournal.com profile] evil_egg . It's also for my Hero-A-Day Month project:

Second, I'm reposting my brother Matthew's favorite story of mine.

WHY MUST I FEEL SO BUSY?!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I still don’t know why I’m waiting for her. My canvas shoes are sucking up the rain water like little Hoovers and the newspaper over my head is soaked all the way through to the Metro section. I promised I’d meet her here at midnight, but it’s gotta be one by now. Maybe she didn’t want to head out in the rain. Maybe she missed her bus. Maybe she decided to rethink meeting with a convicted arsonist in the middle of the night. Surely all the water would make her feel safe about the last one.

I’m slumped like a hunchback, trying to keep the drops of water on my head and off my cigarette. She always told me she thought smoking was sexy if the right person was doing it.

“A bum can make a cigarette look hot," she'd say, "just like a model can look ugly if she's not doing it right. You’ve got to smoke it like you mean it, but not like you need it. Tease that Lark pack. Make it want you more than you want it.”

She didn’t always make a hell of a lot of sense, but she could kiss days off your life and her brain was so smart it had its own. I never thought I deserved her. She didn’t think so either, but she said she hated people who were smarter than her. There aren't many of those, and she tends to punch any that she finds.

It's wet, I'm cold, and my alcohol-blood level is getting dangerously low. If I head for the nearest glass of port, she's sure to show up right here as soon as I start warming my bar stool. Maybe it's the chance I need to take.

“Don’t turn your back on me, you son of a bitch,” she says as I start walking away.

    “Where have you been?”

“Hiding between raindrops. Existing as a quantum possibility. Eating cereal in the middle of the night.”

She grabs me and I kiss her like her lips are trying to escape.

Happy Norse God of Prettiness Day,

b
I did some kinda shitty drawing of The Inevitable Power Creep for [livejournal.com profile] froborr_dwiggy  and his handler, [livejournal.com profile] froborr .

Hero-A-Day
and all that.

Happy Tuesday.

b

Today's Hero A Day is a request by [livejournal.com profile] shadowofsummer :

I am perpetually taking requests for more, thereby guaranteeing that I'll never ever finish them all.

Also, my arm really hurts.

Smooches,

b
Three...THREE...THREE ITEMS IN ONE!!!

A)
[livejournal.com profile] subliminal_vs requested, for my Photos of my Life series, "a picture of you and your cat doing the Curly Shuffle".

Immediately after this photo was taken, your humble narrator was relieved of his right eye and his left hand.

B) For my latest Hero A Day drawing, [personal profile] esmio06  wanted me to draw "the answer man that told us abuot that book from Pablo with all the free government monies".

It ended up looking like I attached, to Matthew Lesko's body, the head of the main Nazi vampire dude from Hellsing:

C) Finally,[profile] iconotrast  was not happy that he left out my glasses for his first drawing of me as the Internet Monkey King, so he did a follow-up:

There you go, that should be enough to keep you entertained.

Smooches, my little monkeys.

Love,

b
So here I am, ready to post another of my Hero A Day drawings, when I get an envelope in the mail with art that makes me insanely happy while simultaneously driving me to urinate all over my own stuff.

First, let's take a look at this thing i can't draw, a request by [info]funranium; "Dude, give me Captain Britain in his full Britannic glory!"

Well...

And now let's pause for some REAL art.

What arrived in the mail was a piece of magnificence by Michel Fiffe (aka [personal profile] zegas) comic writer and artist extraordinare.

His works include PANORAMA, originally published online at [profile] act_i_vate and later in comic form in BRAWL, and various segments in the anthology comic NEGATIVE BURN.

This is his PANORAMA character Augustus, sporting a t-shirt inspired by two comics  I did.

I...

Yeah. Boom-de-ah-da, motherfuckers.

Sometimes life really kicks the right balls.

Love,

b

HERO A DAY

Jun. 17th, 2008 09:33 am

------------------

This should fulfill Hero-A-Day requests from both [profile] seestephgo and [profile] siliconneedle. :D

Still accepting requests.
I've finally done another Hero A Day, after fixing all of the links for the drawings in the old posts.

[profile] the_crowchan asked for Black Canary, or maybe Plastic Man, so I gave her both.

Man, I really need to get all the crap off of my scanner at home. I'm tired of the paper turning up gray because of crappy public terminals.

Anyway, the quest to catch up continues, and I'm actually picking up speed. I've even got a proper list written down on a proper piece of paper so I don't have to keep going back to consult comments from old entries.

YOU CAN STILL REQUEST A DRAWING!
Do so in the comments.

I'm gonna go eat a banana.

b
After about 133 months I've finally done another Hero / Villain a Day.

Are you happy, [profile] gdwessel ? Are you?

First, a jam comic by my brother Matthew and me:

Finally another HERO A DAY, as well as A SPACE EPIC JAM COMIC by Matthew, Me, and Lovely Wife Sara!

For [profile] kristinkannibal, a terrifically horrible drawing of CRUELLA DE VIL...

And now...JAM COMIX! (Matthew says those are squirrels in the first panel)

Order: Matthew, me, Sara, Matthew, Me, Matthew, Me, Sara
Who do you love, kids?!

b
I finally got around to doing my latest HERO A DAY drawing.

This one's fer [profile] thewalkingman  . It's for [profile] el_jake  , too, I guess, but not as much.

This one's got audio accompaniment.
Right click and OPEN AS A NEW TAB THIS LINK for the music.

Oh, John Rambo...
You're just what your country made you to be.

[profile] mercuryshade asked for Panthro as part of my Hero of the Day series
I have delivered.
Only he's not happy with me.

This HERO A DAY is for [profile] kali921, who asked me to draw Daredevil trying to eat an ice cream cone and failing.

Drew another Hero/Villain.

This guy's kinda both, and nobody requested him. I just drew him on Monday night after [profile] sarahsam and [profile] chuckdawg and Sara and I whupped on each other playing the Japanese import version of RIVAL SCHOOLS: Burning Justice Academy (aka PROJECT JUSTICE). I drew him with no reference whatsoever, and if you look at what he really looks like, it shows.

b
[info]pure_doxyk 's request for A Hero a Day is up on the block today

She wanted The Greatest Secret Agent In The World.

You know...this fellow?

I took way longer on this than I had intended to. I just kept wanting to add stuff.
Oh, and I kept watching Drunken Master II as I worked on it.

I'm gonna clean up my pencils then go to sleep. I'm not going to hit post until tomorrow morning, though. Anyway, after you scope my crappy drawing, you kids go check out [profile] himynameisjamie and [profile] ericfmyers, the original and second-original starters of the Hero A Day thing.

b
NEW HERO!!!

At the request of [profile] thomtoffner  ...

Inspired by one of the funniest movie scenes I've ever watched ever...ever.

I think that says a lot about me.

Click the top link for more, feel free to request other heroes/villains
