Over the last, ermm…lots of years, I’ve been doing a regular thing where I have a preposterous amount of fun taking my toys into the bookstacks and finding appropriate books for them.

The setups vary from comic book humor, to pop culture humor, to NOBODY WILL GET THAT JOKE, BENJAMIN.

I have some new ones planned out, so I thought I’d familiarize people with some of my older ones.

Also, if all goes well, you’ll have the first splash page of The Wizard’s Lesson tomorrow morning. Here are Part 1, Parts 2 & 3, Parts 4 & 5, and Part 6.

More Toys in the Bookstacks behind the cut.

Now go hug somebody.

Love,

benjamin

Man, seriously, zombie stuff will never stop being awesome to me. Yes, we hit an oversaturation point a few years ago, but like Chinese food, it is simply impossible for me to have too much of it.

---------

" (AP)-- The University of Florida is prepared for all sorts of disasters. Even zombies.

A disaster-recovery exercise that explains how the school could respond to an outbreak of the undead was posted on the UF e-Learning Support Services website. The site also contains plans for events such as hurricanes.

The zombie attack exercise lays out the university's response to attacks by ``flesh-eating, apparently life impaired individuals.''

``Some employees may prefer weapons such as chain saws, baseball bats, and explosives that have been shown to be effective against zombies,'' the plan says.

It includes an ``infected co-worker dispatch form'' that has a place to list the co-worker's symptoms such as ``lack of rational thought (this can cause problems confusing zombies with managers).''

A University of Florida spokesman said the exercise was designed to ``add a little bit of levity'' to disaster preparation discussions.

The plan was no longer available on the UF website Thursday."

---------

The plan may not be on the website anymore, but they should know that nothing dies on the internet. Indeed, I found the pdf on Google Docs. I highly recommend reading it, especially the Infected Co-worker Dispatch Form.

Smooches,

The invitation listed a "...strict no ninjas policy. Ninjas will be keelhauled."

So I came as a ZOMBIE PIRATE!!! (c.f. this phone post)

Zombie Pirate and his Saucy Wench

Zombie pirate drank that entire bottle of "sparkling wine" very quickly. Then, right when he was done, he heard [profile] chuckdawg  shouting "It's Shot O'Clock!" from inside the house.

Uncle Zombie Pirate Drinky's work is never done.

HELL. YEAH.
Go see it, or the kicking begins.

Behind a cut, because you need the LARGE version of the picture for the best effect...

"Damn it, this is absolutely no help whatsoever!!!"

"I thought this was a reference book! Bastards!"

I guess you can't judge a book by its cover...

benjamin

I was a dead game show host for Halloween this year.

"On my way to work, I got hit by A FABULOUS NEW CAR!!!"
"Get stomach flu on a two week cruise DOWN THE RIVER STYX!!!"
"I accidentally went through DOOR NUMBER TWO!!!"

There were several people in the bookstacks that I scared the pee out of. Today was a good day.

Here are pics, but you can’t see the tire marks I drew on my legs. And those are Hell Bank Notes in my pocket

Heh...for those of you who've never seen it:

Kristy vs. The Zombie Army

...and now with...

Zombie Army T-Shirts!!!
Relentless zombie nightmare last night.  One of those fuckbastards where, no matter how long you stay awake after you wake up, when your head hits the pillow again you're right where you left off.

Inexplicably made it through the whole dream WITHOUT being infected. Curious zombies. They were slow, but only mostly dead or somesuch. No rotting faces or anything. Didn't bleed when you cut them.  And got EVERYWHERE.

Possibly the oddest things were that in any crowd of zombies was always SOMEBODY I recognized (even in other cities) and that they didn't bang on doors or walls, they all crowded against the object and pushed with their legs and eventually whatever it was just broke.  Somehow I knew that their strength gradually increased the longer they stayed at a task.

Sort of a "The more APATHETIC AND CRAVING HUMAN FLESH Hulk gets, the STRONGER Hulk gets!"

I'm warm and I need to shave.

I also need to post the next bit about Mr. Clifton, and his Recently Restored Madd Ninja Skillz. I'll link to the first bit of the story when I do. Well, the first bit of the story with Mr. Clifton...he's in the "Serge, Mike, and Moon Turk"...umm, I was gonna say story, but it's turning novelish.  Damn it.

Somebody please remind my worm-ridden brain to do this today, no matter what. I keep putting off finishing this bit.
