"Did I draw it wrong again?"

"Did I draw it wrong again?"

My second drawing of strange things I apparently say when I'm falling asleep. Nadja has been keeping notes. Also, this was inked over my first and only sketch for this drawing.

I did this while looking at a photo of my own hand.

I promise you, I am not a thalidomide survivor in real life; I just can't draw. Remember?

Love,

b

Right, off to jury duty.

[profile] lovenmitt  has beautiful, prophetic dreams:

"Then I witnessed a bald [personal profile] benchilada get drunk and use some program he found on the internet to make it look like the Matrix was coming out of his head. If you've never seen the Matrix (not the movie, but the matrix in the movie) come out of someone's head, it's all very Neal Stephenson and cool."
Before real content arrives, today's Fabulous Paragraph comes from [profile] icayrus, recounting a dream he had Saturday night. I added the italics to my favorite line...

"President Bush, in his almighty wisdom, decided to jump up onto the podium itself to give his speech to try and rouse the crowd. There was a sudden in draw of breath as everyone realized this was what he was doing and he began "At this point in history.." and as the O sound started to escape his mouth from the word history, he lost his balance and fell to the ground. At this point all of the African American children who had been placed around the podium, for the great photos of course, got up and swarmed around the President to make sure he was ok. Suddenly, one of the children went flying up into the air, a la Neo fighting Agent Smith on the playground in the Matrix: Reloaded, and someone screamed out from the congregation "Oh My God, George Bush is hitting Black People" and the swarm of children started flying away from where the President had fallen into the congregation.

And now, some music I've been listening to lately...

Look, I generally don't enjoy reading people's dreams, unless they're terribly fucked-up or beautiful.

It seems that [livejournal.com profile] burningdove has had one of the former.

Trust me, you're gonna wanna read this. It's like a magnificent story written my Cronenberg, filmed my Miike

Oh, and stick around on his LJ, too, he's a brutally good comic writer/artist.

Who finally knows who the Five Trusted Fists are and how they are related to the Mo-Lan Devils
And has given himself until midnight to rewrite the first six pages of LAST SHOT to get to Karl
Relentless zombie nightmare last night.  One of those fuckbastards where, no matter how long you stay awake after you wake up, when your head hits the pillow again you're right where you left off.

Inexplicably made it through the whole dream WITHOUT being infected. Curious zombies. They were slow, but only mostly dead or somesuch. No rotting faces or anything. Didn't bleed when you cut them.  And got EVERYWHERE.

Possibly the oddest things were that in any crowd of zombies was always SOMEBODY I recognized (even in other cities) and that they didn't bang on doors or walls, they all crowded against the object and pushed with their legs and eventually whatever it was just broke.  Somehow I knew that their strength gradually increased the longer they stayed at a task.

Sort of a "The more APATHETIC AND CRAVING HUMAN FLESH Hulk gets, the STRONGER Hulk gets!"

I'm warm and I need to shave.

I also need to post the next bit about Mr. Clifton, and his Recently Restored Madd Ninja Skillz. I'll link to the first bit of the story when I do. Well, the first bit of the story with Mr. Clifton...he's in the "Serge, Mike, and Moon Turk"...umm, I was gonna say story, but it's turning novelish.  Damn it.

Somebody please remind my worm-ridden brain to do this today, no matter what. I keep putting off finishing this bit.

I know a woman who is a complete music addict. A total fiend for the stuff. And she sold all but four of her CD’s to buy a bus ticket so she could travel over a thousand miles to forever be with the one she loved.

I know a man who loves peace and quiet and solitude. And this man slept in the storeroom of a shitty little restaurant for two years to keep his dead friend’s dream alive.

I know a man of vast artistic and musical talent. And he sleeps in an apartment where he can’t afford to turn on the heat, living off second-hand food brought by friends, working on new art every day, because he will not become like everybody else.

I know a man who crossed an ocean to be here. He makes good money, yet he often goes without many things, so that his family in Europe will not be hungry, will have a roof over their heads, will be healthy.

And what have you done today?

“Hope is gone and she confessed
That when you put your dreams to rest,
You can get what’s second best,
But it’s hard to get enough.”

- David Wilcox

I’ve heard enough about people giving up in the past few weeks.
        Fuck that.
Remember that dream you used to have? Find it again, and beat that son of a bitch back into shape.

I’m tired of the bastards always winning.
