Fell asleep on the couch--c.f. this--now have ONE night instead of TWO to edit v.23 of Iron Wok Jan. Which is 200 pages long.

While riding the bus back from my New Comic Book Day trip to G-Mart, I sat behind a guy that I often see at the shop when I'm there.

He was reading this:



which I edited for DrMaster.

That was a pretty damned kick-ass feeling.

Went to brain doctor. Will pick up new pills after work.

Need to plot some stuff, then edit the fuck out of the third Rahxephon novel for DrMaster. Novels pay three times as much as a plain manga, but take AT LEAST three times as long.

Fudge.

    I have some a fiction bit later, about Gun Smith(tm) and his Fabulous Weapons...
    But for now, just a few choice bits from tonight's editing of KING OF FIGHTERS: MAXIMUM IMPACT (v.7):

    "RETURNING FROM HIS TRAINING, RYO CAME BACK TO FIND SOMEONE HAD DESTROYED HIS DOJO. HIS STUDENT, KHUSHNOOD BUTT WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED, DURING THE ATTACK.     KNUSHNOOD WAS CERTAIN THAT MEPHISTOPHELES WAS BEHIND THE ATTACK ON RYO'S DOJO."

    Is that the coolest name in history, or am I on heroin? I mean, I thought the book and game had pretty choice ones with "Geese Howard" and "Mignon Beart." Seriously...KHUSHNOOD BUTT?  The hell did that awesomeness come from?

    Ooh, here's another tasty one, straight out of EVERY low-rent kung-fu movie ever: "HERE'S THE TRUTH AGENT SETH!  YOU'LL DIE BY OUR HANDS!" Guess he should be thankful for the honesty.

    His response is pretty buff, though: "THIS IS PATHETIC.  I'LL PUT AN END TO YOUR MISERABLE EXISTENCE SO YOU AND YOUR BROTHER CAN SPEND SOME QUALITY TIME TOGETHER...IN HELL!"

...

How come situations never arise in my life where I get to say shit like that?

Yes, I love you and I want to write more stories for you.
But, you see, I've been rather busy with my editing for DrMaster. Finished editing the RahXephon Novel, v.2, in the wee small hours of the morning.

I only got an hour of sleep last night and have about 200 new pages to edit by tomorrow morning, but hey. Something something something something.

Crunched some numbers on my internship, too.

By this time tomorrow, I will have, by my count, edited over 1100 pages of manga and manhua, and 420 pages of novels. In 46 days. This is full copyediting of English translations, not just proofreading.

That averages out to about 24 pages of manga/manhua and 9 pages of novel a day.

And I still have fifteen days left.

Still I love it, though, I swear. It's fun, and I get to read manga as I work. And I'm ridiculously addicted to High School Girls.
