Are you wondering what all of this ‘benjamin being attacked by letters’ was all about?

I doubt it, but if you look below you’ll find that the last page pulls a Clarissa and explains it all:

On January 30, 2005, I first used the term “Things I Can’t Draw” on LiveJournal, regarding The Day I Saw An Unidenfitied Flying Object, a story for some class that I drew when I was in about 2nd or 3rd grade.

On January 2, 2006, I did my first entire page of TICD, because I was bored near a pen and a sheet of printer paper. I had so much fun, and that coffee-maker still looks good…but wtf laptop?

Now, in October 2014, it’s time to retire the title.

Thing I Can’t Draw belong to the ages.

Welcome to This Is How I Draw.

Sure, it’s taken eight years for me to accept it completely, but I can draw; I simply have a very unique style. It takes me far longer than you would think—I can draw, but it’s difficult—and that’s totally fine, because I love the fuck out of doing it. I’ve been getting better as time goes on, and can easily finish things in one night that used to take me two or three.

The Wizard’s Lesson is a great example of this, and I have a page already uploaded and ready to post on Thursday. I start another tonight and may even have it ready for the same post.

The moral of the story is that you can all stop telling me that I really can draw, because I’ve finally acknowledged it. The next person who derides my derision can go screw.

"Did I draw it wrong again?"

My second drawing of strange things I apparently say when I'm falling asleep. Nadja has been keeping notes. Also, this was inked over my first and only sketch for this drawing.

I did this while looking at a photo of my own hand.

I promise you, I am not a thalidomide survivor in real life; I just can't draw. Remember?

Will probably get drunk and write a Sir Reginald story or draw something (maybe a Fuckbrain Comix) after seeing An Inconvenient Truth at Boardman's Art Theatre.

Have been totally fucking blocked on any writing that isn't Reg. I was trying to dodge him for a while, but perhaps this will get my creative bowels to fucking unclench.

Perhaps all that popcorn will slowly diffuse the booze...

Earlier in the week, the cry went out from

baconistasty for people to make drawings of his girlfriend Melanie, which he would then compile for her birthday, which was Thursday.

I decided, in the spirit of the things I can't draw, that I would do one.

He provided various pieces of source material, but to me the most striking pictures were ones she had taken of herself with road-rash on her face after her scooter got hit by a car.

I read through her journal entries from that time, found that it had been a mid-sized SUV that had done it, and instantly I knew what had to be done...IN THE NAME OF VENGEANCE.

The only thing I traced was the initial body of Supes, which I then trimmed and made more ladylike. Sara had to help with the...ummm..."bust area"...as my meager drawing skills can only produce a flat chest or huge breasticles. Oh, and Sara did the face--which was so tiny that few details could be added at all--because I kept drawing her like a pirate. Or a witch. Or a pirate witch.

In any event, I think I'm more prouderest of this drawing than of any I've ever done. :)

atomic_robo is dead hilarious, one of the best things happening on LJ these days, and if you're not reading it, you're silly. He has teamed-up with Sir Reginald in a complete-lack-of-battle for the ages!

FACT: I am on the edge of an INTERNATIONAL TEAM-UP with Norwegian artist Karl Bryhn to do some comix together. It's still in the planning stages, but it's looking good so far.
