As part of the upcoming Korean Film Festival at Boardman's Art Theatre at the end of September...
Sympathy for Lady Vengeance [Ch'injôrhan Kûmjassi]
PARK Chan-wook | Tartan Films
2005 | 115 min
The sequel to Park Chan-wook's international success “Oldboy,” this film tells the story of Lee Geum-Ja (LEE Yeong-ae), who goes to prison for the murder and abduction of a child on behalf of her accomplice Mr. Baek (CHOI Min-shik), only to find out he has betrayed her. While in prison, she carefully prepares for her revenge by winning the hearts of her fellow inmates with her kindness, thus earning herself the nickname “the kind Ms. Geum-Ja.” Upon her release from prison after 13 years, she seeks revenge with the help of her former prison mates. Due to graphic sex and violence, viewer discretion is advised. View trailer
Sat 9/30, 9:30pm Boardman Art Theatre, Champaign, IL
------------------
No, it's not really a sequel to OLDBOY, just as OLDBOY wasn't a sequel to SYMPATHY FOR MR. VENGEANCE. The three are just Park's Vengeance trilogy...

Jul. 6th, 2006 09:07 pmWill probably get drunk and write a Sir Reginald story or draw something (maybe a Fuckbrain Comix) after seeing An Inconvenient Truth at Boardman's Art Theatre.
Have been totally fucking blocked on any writing that isn't Reg. I was trying to dodge him for a while, but perhaps this will get my creative bowels to fucking unclench.
Perhaps all that popcorn will slowly diffuse the booze...
Perhaps I should have it with a soda, therefore...
Ellipses...

Jan. 19th, 2006 11:40 amEDIT: Kong ended on Tuesday. I am stupid and
pynchon82 hates me. I need booze.
Live near Champaign-Urbana?
Tonight's your last chance to catch KING KONG at Boardman's Art Theatre.
It's a huge screen, best sound system in town, comfy chairs, and they sell pizza and coffee.
Does it get any better?
Yes, because you're supporting a local business.
AND IT'S GOT A GIANT FUCKING MONKEY FIGHTING DINOSAURS! COME ON!!!
Starting Friday night: THE SQUID AND THE WHALE
Next Friday? BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN
Go. You know you want to.
