MTD rocked and got us to the show on time, originally uploaded by benchilada.

Nadja and I were off to a show on a Friday night. According to the bus schedule, our Green West would arrive several minutes before the bus we had to transfer to.

Alas, using the MTD StopWatch program, we found that our second bus, the 3 Lavender, was going to get there several minutes BEFORE we did.

Our driver kindly called ahead and asked for the driver of the next bus to wait for passengers to be dropped off.

As we pulled into the transfer plaza we watched the other bus pull away and leave.

Our driver was extraordinarily helpful and apologetic, and she tried to think of something she could do. I didn't want to keep her, so after a minute or so we got her back on her way. I made a call to MTD and we found that we had no options. I told them that I'd call back with a complaint on Monday and have my receipt for the cab fare.

We called a taxi and were standing by the bus shelters when a bus labeled NOT IN SERVICE pulled up and opened its driver window.

"Are you the two who didn't get their transfer?"

The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District sent a BUS to pick up TWO passengers who were unable to catch a scheduled transfer and were going to miss a show because of it.

THAT, ladies and gentleman, is customer service beyond the pale, and THAT is why I love the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District.

They came to Minnesota.

On vacation.

From Denmark.

From there, a package was mailed to me and fairyarmadillo.

Their names are Kathryn and Henrik.

THEY BROUGHT US FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!

There was...LICORICE!

And CHEESES!

And REMOULADE!

Wasa frukost? Depends, you talkin' apples or mangoes?

And FISHES!

But honestly, the licorice and the cheese were the most fun. The fishes was delishes, so they got trimmed out of the video. :P You don't press play on these things to watch me going "OH MAN THIS ONE IS ALSO REALLY DELICIOUS FISH," do you?

If you're in Illinois District 13, you should read up on the candidates. Only David Gill, Matt Goetten, and Tim Johnson remain in the race.

If you're left-leaning, you'll find good info in there about why Gill and not Goetten is the right guy. That is, of course, assuming that you support things like women's reproductive rights, gay marriage, and the rejection of corporate funding/meddling. Goetten is a centrist at best; Gill is an actual progressive.

I'll just assume that you won't be voting for Tim "Skeletor von Promisebreaker of Notdoinghisjobsville" Johnson.

Last night's movie at Stone-Robot Enterprises was for nostalgia. It's dated in a way that makes you alternate between wry smiles and painful cringe, but the rewatch was actually kinda fun.

Oddly, the worst part was that Edwards's character being dumber than a sack of used condoms actually made the bumbling aspect LESS believable.

Also bad: that we only see Fiorentino's breasts for about one second in a less-than-cool situation. If you're gonna film five sex scenes then you gotta throw us some candy.
