Polish writer Stanislaw Lem dead at 84.
SOLARIS remains one of my favorite books ever. Trust me, both of the movies that have been made of it have fuckall to do with the book.
Read it. It's short and magnificent.
Oh, and while you're at the bookstore, grab One Human Minute and The Futurological Congress, one of the Ion Tichy "series" of books.
