Warren Ellis just put up a post showing The Lumiere Manifesto about videoblogging.

He nailed it when he called it a Dogme 95 for videoblogging.

I suppose that's why it sounds a little fucking ridiculous.

Silly little rules make for silly little art.

Pretention breeds pretention.
Avatar Press--based here out of Champaign-Urbana and publishers of works by, amongst others, Warren Ellis and Alan Moore--is searching for artists.

ALL THE DETAILS ARE HERE.

Check out the kind of stuff they dig, then get on it, my artist-monkey friends.

Bastard Sons of Whores...

From the LJ of [profile] warren_ellis

"A month and a half ago, I asked you not to leave unsolicited fiction in comments, because I can't legally look at them, and so I'd have to stop using LJ if it continued. I can't fuck around with this -- if something in your fiction resembles something I later write, you sue me and end up owning my house. I can't expose myself to that.

So someone in the previous entry decided to post some unsolicited fiction anyway.

This makes me very sad. Because now I have to stop talking with you all, and I really liked that.

I can be found most often on my message board, THE ENGINE, on MySpace (where I have corrupted the bulletin board system) and, of course, on warrenelliscom. You all know my email -- warrene @ aol.com. Use it anytime. I'm keeping the LJ account to read my friend's journals, naturally.

I will miss you all very much.

Some of you are unaware of my Things I Can't Draw Series. You are the safe, healthy ones.

I sit with a blank piece of paper and a bunch of sharpened pencils and, sans photo or physical reference, attempt to draw things from memory.

This is the sixth seventh installment. Apparently one of the things I can't draw is the correct number of things I haven't been able to draw yet.

For maximum enjoyment, don't read the tags until after you've looked at the "art."

Have tissues ready, in case eyes begin to bleed )

That's it, his Holy Slut Army is going to kill me.

Free comic.

Wanna know why I love Transmetropolitan?

Here's issue #8.

Warren Ellis said it's just one issue, so he's not too pissed about it being up.
Probably good to mention though, as he does, that it's in the collection Lust For Life

With luck, it's still there.
With Uncle Warren letting thousands of people know it's there, the dude's server may well crash.

While not identical, the similarities still make me giggle.
