    On Sir Reginald’s third—-and, he would later say, most successful—-venture into the astral plane, he visited seventeen countries, peered into the deepest vaults of the few remaining untamed pyramids, discovered what really goes on when the Prime Minister goes to bed, made a brief foray into the waters outside the Comoros to look for a coelacanth, and was robbed blind by Madame Zunda and her band of thugs, taking advantage of the quasi-lifeless smoking-jacketed body he left behind in his den.
    When he later had Zunda beaten within a hair’s breadth of her life, he would maintain that it was not for something so petty as revenge, but merely to “remind my occult teacher and spiritual guide of the ties we all must regrettably maintain to the realm of the gross physical.”
    The fate of her thugs is still unknown.
