So, yesterday's Things I Can't Draw: Favorite Movies 2?
(Click below to go to yesterday's entry)

Well, I'm going to give you all of the answers in the form of trailers for the movies.
You're probably going to want to leave this open in a tab or bookmark it for later, as there are about a dozen videos behind the cut.
1) Dude with half-a-sports car and half-a-hearse and an acetylene torch? That's from HAROLD AND MAUDE
Brilliant comedy / romance / subversion film. Great actors and the wonderful Hal Ashby directing. For those of you who've seen the movie, definitely watch this trailer, as there are some scenes that were cut from the film, resulting in Bud Cort all but abandoning the movie when it was released.
2) Guy emptying the liquid contents of a gourd into his mouth while kicking somebody? DRUNKEN MASTER (1 or 2). They're brilliant, and he did them over a decade apart. Here's are the trailers for both:
3) "Fucking gravity." is from FARAWAY, SO CLOSE, sequel to WINGS OF DESIRE. The latter was remade as CITY OF ANGELS, a movie that I hear is not to be seen. F,SC is one of the few times I've ever seen a sequel as good as the first film, in such a totally different way.
Link to FARAWAY, SO CLOSE trailer.
Oh, and here's the WINGS OF DESIRE trailer:
4) That's a sad boy in a rice field from ALL ABOUT LILY CHOU CHOU, one of the most beautiful and emotionally troubling films I've ever seen.
The music is by a woman named Salyu, who was completely unknown before the movie, which was originally not even going to show the titular singer. Here's another song by her:
5) TAMPOPO, the first "noodle western." You will literally laugh and cry (the former more than the latter by a long ways) at this culinary masterpiece. This is a movie you eat. Sorry no subs on the trailer:
6) Time for WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. The scene I drew above was added by Gene Wilder himself. I love how this original trailer doesn't go into the depths of black humor this film is full of:
7) You know how so many movies get called "A film that children and adults will both love?" Yeah, for MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO, it's completely true.
8) DAWN OF THE DEAD (1978) is one of the most influential horror films of all time. Nothing like social commentary and zombies eating people's intestines. Director / screenwriter George Romero created a true classic.
9) I'm always pleased to find a movie that's truly suspenseful and clever and full of punches to my gut. NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN deserved every award it won.
10) AMELIE (aka The Fabulous Destiny of Amelie Poulain) is just One Of Those Movies, you know? Yeah, it's totally one of those.
Did you really just watch all of those? Jesus, you should probably get some fresh air...
Happy Tuesday,
