EDITED FOR CLARITY

Had a talk with a good friend of mine a few weeks ago about some life-related stuff of theirs.
The person is now out and no longer dating people based on what they think they're supposed to be doing based on societal and familial pressure.
The person finally knows what emotions you're supposed to feel when you touch another human being, feelings that they had to fake previously, in relationships with the opposite sex.
So very happy for them to figure this out and be brave enough to acknowledge it.
FINAL EDIT: Friend of mine has finally figured out what all of her uneventful relationships with men and why they never felt right and why she never understood what all the love / kissing / sex / companionship / passion thing was all about when she stopped denying (societal and family pressures suppresed it a lot, as the ones she comes from are both VERY anti-gay) the way she felt about girls and is now dating one and feels like she's never felt before.
