blackwell -- in addition to zenostortoise, planetx, vethia, and a_typical_irony -- has developed this fabulous concept of giving us all a new piece of short speculative fiction every day for a year.
The first story is up, and I heart it like crazy.
Vaguely related note, I have more UltraFlashFiction up at:

and I have about a dozen more submitted that haven't been approved/disapproved yet.
I highly encourage you to sign up, not just so you can rank my stories, but also so you can do your own.
