Some have ongoing storylines, some don't. Some alternate between the two.

That's Batman leapfrogging Egghead, right? Cause Egghead's a tool, yeah? Well, Egghead isn't exactly the primary villain in this storyline.

'cause this is BATMAN VS GODZILLA.
