Oct. 19th, 2009 01:10 pmPerhaps you do not understand how much you want the Best Beer Stein Ever Forever The End Seriously Just Give Up Looking Because It's Right Here.
Sure, it's a bit pricey, but I know some of you sons-of-bitches have money.
The story goes like this:
funranium is certifiable. He made a beer mug constructed entirely of science:

"I've made this stein using a Pope Scientific bench top dewar flask because the former croygenics technician in me won't let me use an inferior quality dewar. I've found Pope dewars still holding good vacuum after 30 years. This is, for all intents and purposes, the very best thermos you're ever going to find. It is quite common to fill these with liquid nitrogen, let it sit on the lab bench, and when you come back three days later there will still be liquid nitrogen in it.
Now imagine what it can do for beer.
Your last sip of beer will be as cold as your first. If you can survive a margarita of this size, it will be frosty all the way down."
You can read all about his thought-processes and construction of the thing right here. It's quite interesting.
I recommend that you scroll to the bottom and read upwards.
THEY'RE FOR SALE AT HIS ETSY STORE FOR WHAT IS A LOT OF MONEY TO ME BUT SURELY ONE OR TWO OF YOU SCIENCE MOTHERFUCKERS HAS THE DOSH FOR ONE!
Or just tell your rich friends / family. You know it'd be goddamned worth it.
Not all sizes are listed on the Etsy store yet but they are all available for sale!
350mL stein: $275
665mL stein: $325
1L stein: $375
1.9L stein: $600
4.3L stein: $800
And tell people about this, because it's Science Gone Right and Beery and the world needs to know about it.
Get on your Diggs and Reddits and Boing-Boings and Mosh Pits and Sex Orgies and whatever you kids do these days and spread the word!
And somebody tell Warren Ellis.
Smooches,
