Living Fuck, I have a "job" in comics...
Jun. 2nd, 2005 04:01 pmHello, my name is benjamin sTone, and I’m fucking WIRED.
You see, DrMaster Comics (formerly ComicsOne) are sending me a contract to sign for a two month unpaid editing internship. </>They were apparently VERY impressed by the editing test they gave me, and within four hours had given me a call to set up a phone interview. Less then eighteen hours after that, I get an e-mail saying that they’re offering me the internship. It seems that I’ll be editing the rough English translations of Chinese and Japanese manga into readable stuff.</>
Comics = bastard hard industry to get into. And while I may have just a finger and not a foot in the door, the experience alone is going to be fabulous and – if I don’t get offered a job after two months – will look great on resumes for future comic attempts.
So, I have a finger in the door. I have stories that I’m scripting into comic format to pitch to SOMEBODY. My agent (read: Mama) is about to start fishing for places to sell my stories.</>
I really hate getting my hopes up, but could this be where it all changes? Watch this space for updates and more fiction.
