E-Prime

A permutation of the English language called E-Prime freaks me out. Perhaps my Tourette’s Syndrome makes me more susceptible to interesting linguistic concepts such as E-Prime. Perhaps E-Prime has some underlying truth that can worm its way beyond what society already pre-loaded into our brains. Things that do that make me happy. I like when a concept forces me to think through and discover new facets of what would normally seem to make perfect sense. E-Prime makes you check yourself, how you think, and how others say things to you in order to make you hear what they want you to. Whether you know it or not.
It may appear that paranoia drives what I say here. The possibility exists that my fascination with the language stems from both neurological disorders and my mistrust of the powers that be.
Or maybe…just maybe…when you check out this webpage:

http://www.nobeliefs.com/eprime.htm

you, too, will find that things suddenly make more sense. Read the whole thing, you lazy bastards.

Now go think.

PS – Did my message sound stilted, perhaps overly descriptive? I never used any permutation of the infinitive “to be.” E-Prime, my bitches.
